V K Ramasamy entered the Tamil movie industry during the 1940's and was very successful from very early on in his career. He was known for portraying much older characters with conviction from a very young age. He shot to fame with his performance in the movie Naam Iruvar in the year 1948. He acted with the great heroes and super stars of the 40's and 50's and transformed himself to suit the style of the 60's and 70's and was equally successful in the 80's and 90's thereby proving himself as an actor who was successful across three generations. V K Ramasamy excelled in various supporting roles be it negative roles, comic roles or character roles.
He had acted in a few movies with MGR. But he was Sivaji's favourite co-star and had acted with him in several movies including the negative role which he played in Sivaji's debut movie Parasakthi. He excelled in comic roles having played along side Nagesh, Manorama and various other comedy actors over five decades in several movies. His comic ability was used by directors such as Maniratnam and Faazil in the 80's and 90's in a very successful manner in super hit movies of theirs. This particular hilarious song is from the movie Avar Enakke Sontham starring Jaishankar, Sri Vidhya, Thengai Srinivasan, and others apart from VKR. The scene which has VKR singing a Hindi Song in a Tamil Tune composed by Ilayaraja and the response of the audience are hilarious in equal measure. Only one song in this movie was written by Kannadasan. The rest of the songs were written by Panchu Arunachalam who had also written the story and directed the movie. The song was sung by TMS and the movie was released in the year 1977.
